Coffee & Climate: Maine’s Energy Plan
On Friday, March 14th from 9am – 10am the One Climate Future Team was joined by Dan Burgess, Director of the Governor’s Energy Office, to discuss the recently released state Energy Plan. In 2019, Governor Mills signed bipartisan legislation that set a requirement for Maine to use 80 percent renewable energy by 2030, and a target of 100 percent by 2050. After extensive public engagement and planning efforts with key energy stakeholders, the Governor’s Energy Office released the “Maine Energy Plan” early this year. Learn more about the Plan and the strategies it sets to build resilience and meet the Governor’s goal of 100 percent clean electricity by 2040.
